Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 1, 2025
Overview
BIM Engine ("we", "our", or "us") provides a suite of software and hardware services for the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry, including Site Inspection, Scan-to-BIM Reconstruction, Material Procurement, and Robotics control. We are committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your proprietary construction data.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your information when you use our web platform, desktop applications, and robotic control services (collectively, the "Services").
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Account Information: Email address, full name, and professional role (e.g., Architect, Contractor, Supplier) required for account creation and authentication.
User Content (Proprietary Data): To provide our specific "Engine" services, you may upload high-value data, including:
Inspection Data: Site photos, annotations, and voice memos.
Reconstruction Data: LiDAR point clouds (e.g., .las, .e57), BIM models, and IFC files.
Material Data: Product specifications, catalogs, and quote requests.
Payment Information: Billing details collected via our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store raw credit card numbers.
Information Collected Automatically
Robotic & Sensor Telemetry: When using our robotic services, we collect environmental sensor feeds (LiDAR streams, depth camera video) to enable remote control and site navigation.
Device & Usage Data: Device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and interaction logs (e.g., features used, time spent) to ensure system security and performance.
Authentication Logs: Login attempts and device fingerprints to detect unauthorized access.
Information from Third-Party Sources
Publicly Available Material Data: To enrich our Material Engine, we may collect business contact information and product specifications from publicly available supplier websites and industry directories.
How We Use Your Information
Service Provision
To process your photos for inspection reports, convert point clouds to 3D models, and route commands to robotic units.
AI & Automated Processing
We utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLM) to:
Analyze site photos and generate inspection summaries.
Provide material recommendations based on project requirements.
Translate natural language commands into robotic control signals.
Communication
To send transactional emails (OTPs, security alerts), invoices, and material quotes between Architects, Suppliers, and Contractors.
Improvement & Analytics
To analyze system performance (e.g., cloud conversion wait times) and improve the accuracy of our algorithms.
AI and Data Processing Disclaimers
AI Processing
Specific features (Inspection Engine, Material Engine) utilize third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, AWS Bedrock). Your input text and images are sent to these providers solely for the purpose of generating the requested output.
Data Isolation
We respect the intellectual property of your construction data. We do not use your proprietary User Content (Point Clouds, specific Site Photos, or confidential architectural designs) to train our foundational AI models for the general public.
Human-in-the-Loop
AI-generated outputs (reports, 3D meshes, material advice) are probabilistic. You acknowledge that these outputs should be verified by a qualified professional before being implemented in physical construction.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:
Service Providers
We engage trusted third-party companies to perform functions on our behalf, including:
AWS (Amazon Web Services): Cloud infrastructure, S3 file storage, and ECS computing.
Supabase: Database and authentication services.
Vercel: Web hosting and deployment.
Upstash: Job queueing for data processing.
Stripe: Payment processing.
Business Partners (Material Engine)
If you request a quote or product information, your contact details and project requirements may be shared with the relevant Suppliers or Contractors within our platform to facilitate the transaction.
Legal Compliance
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of our users and the public.
Data Retention
Account Data
Retained as long as your account is active.
Project Data
Heavy data files (Point Clouds, Videos) are stored according to your plan limits. You may delete these files at any time via the dashboard.
Authentication Logs
Retained for 90 days for security auditing.
Deleted Data
When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our active databases. Backups may exist for a limited period for disaster recovery purposes.
Security
We employ industry-standard security measures, including:
Encryption
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AWS S3 and Supabase encryption).
Access Control
Strict IAM (Identity and Access Management) policies for our internal staff.
Verification
Secure login via One-Time Passwords (OTP).
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and data ("Right to be Forgotten").
Opt-out of marketing communications.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at team@bimengine.ai.
International Data Transfers
Our infrastructure is primarily hosted in the United States (AWS us-east/us-west regions). By using our Services, you acknowledge that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is a B2B professional tool and is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our technology (e.g., new AI features) or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on our platform.
